Julia Hollingshead earned her B.A. in Public Health and Psychology from Vanderbilt University and her M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the Wright Institute. She is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist intent on becoming an expert in the field of eating disorder treatment and is in the process of becoming a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS). Julia’s past experience includes treating individuals with eating disorders and their families at the residential level of care, as well as working with university students in an outpatient setting. She has experience and training in several treatment approaches including but not limited to acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, internal family systems therapy, and person-centered therapy. Having had an eating disorder herself, Julia offers compassionate support for the challenging journey of recovery and believes the most effective treatment includes the family and support network as much as possible.
